Chris Katzenmeyer
Chris Katzenmeyer did her graduate work in Gerontology at the University of Northern Colorado and post graduate work at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and Naropa University, Boulder, Colorado. She is the Founder and past Executive Director of the Consortium for Older Adult Wellness and the Academy for Older Adult Wellness in Denver. Chris is also a certified Mindfulness Instructor and teaches classes in Mindfulness for chronic pain patients and others with chronic conditions. While Executive Director of the Consortium for Older Adult Wellness Chris created and implemented the Falls Prevention Specialist Certification, which has certified over 100 professionals nationally in CDC recognized evidence-based falls prevention classes. She has won numerous awards for innovation in healthcare, the most recent being the “community Innovator in Health” by the Denver Business Journal and the Colorado Health Foundation. For 7 years Chris was on the board of Directors of Veriditas, a non-profit out of San Francisco that advocates for the labyrinth internationally. She is also the Director of the Legacy Labyrinth Project, www.legacylabyrinthproject.org, where she builds labyrinths around the world dedicated and intended for global healing. Her hobbies are riding her scooter, Stella, and hiking in the Rockies.
